Mark O’Hare is the Founder, President and CEO for Security First Corp. which he founded in 2002. Mark has over 32 years of experience in leading multi-million dollar commercial and government security, engineering, and manufacturing programs. Mark has held previous positions as Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and General Manager for new start-up companies for Safeguard Scientifics’ incubator company XL Vision Inc 1998-2001.
Prior to his work at XL Vision Inc., Mark was a Captain in the United States Navy, serving as the Principal Executive Officer (PEO) for the U.S. Navy’s Aircraft Carrier Program in a two star Admiral’s position as head of the U.S. Navy’s $25 billion Aircraft Carrier Program. In this role he was accountable for all aspects of the Department of Defense’s Aircraft Carrier Program including acquisition, research and development, design, construction, delivery, overall budget and management of the entire Aircraft Carrier program. Mark served a distinguished career in the U.S. military enjoying such duties as Head of Aircraft Carrier New Construction and shipboard assignments as intelligence officer, Chief Engineer of ships including a Nuclear Aircraft Carrier. He was a certified Navy Engineer and was the senior technical advisor to the French and British navies on aircraft carriers.
Mark received his Bachelors of Science Degree from the United States Naval Academy and his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School. He also attended the Senior Advanced Executive Schools at Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management and the Senior Executive Program at the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business. He also is a graduate of the Department of Defense, Defense Systems Management College of Defense Acquisition and Senior Executive programs.
Don provides the technical vision that transformed the SecureParser® into a High Availability grid storage solution.
His expertise was gained as a 19 year consultant for data availability, disaster recovery and continuity of operations for IBM. Don's background as a network engineer lead and facilitated the transition to data replication and continuous availability of mainframe and open systems environments for many Fortune 500 corporations.
Prior to joining SFC, Don was the Director of Technical Solutions for EMC Federal. He lead a team of engineers and PhD.s that were responsible for moving and replicating the data out of many U.S. Government facilities after 9/11.
Don firmly believes that customer information is becoming too large and disbursed to be backed up. This data must be protected and always accessible regardless of weather, power, sabotage and other vulnerabilities. The data must have policy applied that allows it to exist for decades. Security First Corp. technology has the ability to provide global security that cannot be compromised with non-stop access.
Additionally, Don serves as the CTO for Security First Corp.'s joint venture with White Noise Systems.
John heads up SFC'S Business development and sales efforts. SFC's go to market strategy blends direct sales, channel sales and business development directed across the DOD and commercial markets. John has more than 25 years experience in a wide range of disciplines including sales management, marketing, business development, information systems and online distribution, and has held officer positions at 3 major corporations.
John was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Enable LLC, a joint venture of power and utilities titans Kinder Morgan and PacifiCorp that integrated and delivered consolidated services to retail customers. The service, called Simple Choice, was one of the nation’s first bundled energy, communications, entertainment and home services packages. This role built on John’s earlier experience as Vice President of Marketing at a division of Sears Home Services.
John served as Vice President at Sabre and as Senior Director of Sales and Market Planning at American Airlines. In his duties at Sabre, John was responsible for global sales and marketing, global customer service, and product development. John was also responsible for the global customer service operations of American Airlines’ Sabre Division.
At the same time, John managed American Airline’s annual corporate marketing budget and profit plan covering expenditures in excess of $1 billion, and directed the passenger sales division of American Airlines including the company’s revenue management reporting system.
Richard L. (Dick) Ulmer is the SFC Vice President of Strategic Software Partnerships. His current activities are focused on building and extending the Unisys relationship, and in advising the SFC executive team on strategic opportunities for the SecureParser technology. He is also CEO & President of StrategiTech, which provides executive consulting to CXO’s in the conception, creation and go-to-market of strategically significant software products.
Previously, Dick served as Vice President and General Manager for Enterprise Security at Unisys, with responsibility for product management and marketing of the IT solutions related to identity and access management; supply chain visibility; and security information/event management. In this role, Dick identified and successfully completed opportunity assessments, product planning and key partnering agreements resulting in substantial new revenue opportunities around data-centric IT security and highly-scalable utility computing platform for video capture/analysis.
Dick also was the VP&GM for Unisys Software Products and was located in Mission Viejo, CA with direct accountability for the engineering teams in Sydney, Australia, Mission Viejo, CA, Redmond, WA, Roseville, MN, and Malvern, PA. He has an outstanding track record in creating highly motivated and productive geographically-distributed organizations, as well as for identifying emerging strategic technologies and developing the IT products needed to leverage them.
Dick entered the computer field in 1968 after earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at Oklahoma Christian University, with graduate studies in Computer Science at Oklahoma State University. His career has spanned most aspects of the computer systems business including hardware and software development, new business venturing, sales support, marketing, customer support and quality assurance. Due to his recognized industry knowledge and experience, Dick was called upon to testify in the anti-trust trial of Microsoft in April of 2002.
Dick has been closely associated with the University of California at Irvine (UCI), serving as chair for the Engineering Corporate Affiliates board for the School of Engineering and on the Information & Computer Sciences CEO Technology Advisory Board. He was also selected by the Chancellor at UCI to be a member of the college's Foundation Board Ambassadors. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for the Unicode Consortium.
Bill has been a member of the Security First Corp. team since its inception. As the Head of Company Operations, he establishes and directs the processes across the company that maximize resources and minimize response time and costs. He leads the Product Support, Consulting Services and Internal Operations groups.
Bill has extensive experience in operations management. This experience includes managing governmental and non-governmental organizations consisting up to 700 engineers in areas covering power generation, weapon system development, customer support, training and installation. These experiences also required adherence to varying levels of security ranging from business sensitive through Top Secret and above.
Prior to entering the commercial security industry, Bill served as a senior member of the Chief of Naval Operations staff where he was Head of Aircraft Carrier Maintenance Operations and the $3.5 B annual budget.
A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Bill has a Master’s degree in Physics and is certified through both the PMP and DOD Program Management processes.
Rick Orsini has more than 20 years of Information Systems experience with a focus on developing and implementing high volume mission critical transaction processing systems. At Security First Corp., Rick has lead the development of the SecureParser products and a number of prototype applications for the SecureParser.
Prior to joining Security First, Rick played a key role in the overall deployment and integration of TrustEngine™, the forerunner of the SecureParser. He managed the development the TrustEngine™ Java based client and vendor software, which provided connectivity to the Linux, LDAP and XML based TrustEngine™. He also built and lead a team of 10 developers in the implementation of patent pending technology for Internet security, using encryption techniques, custom SSL, enveloping and chain verification to secure and store biometric and other secure information to four different locations.
Previously Rick was a Sr. Director at PC Service Source, a high volume, next day provider of replacement computer parts for the PC Service industry. As the first full time IS employee at PC Service Source, he was responsible for all IS infrastructure, operational and software development, procurement, implementation, and support during the company's most rapid revenue growth from $12M to $125M. At PC Service Source, Rick was responsible for all customers and vendor focused software development work, including high volume transaction processing systems for parts ordering and warranty claims processing.
Before relocating to the Dallas area, Rick was the founder and president of Orsini & Burns, Inc., a Boston area software development and consulting Company specializing in point of sale, wholesale distribution, and temporary Employment solutions.
Matt Staker joined Security First Corp. in 2006 as the Director of Systems and Sales Engineering. Matt leads Security First’s efforts to integrate the SecureParser technology into Information Assurance solutions in defense, government and commercial space. He also supports business development activities directed across the DOD and commercial markets.
Matt has over 25 years experience in Software and Systems development and program management. Prior to coming to Security First, he spent 7 years leading several programs and developers at Avidyne Corporation, an avionics company. There, he successfully managed programs that deliver real time integrated display systems for a commercial airline. He also architected and managed projects to develop and deploy Datalink Weather services to cockpits of General Aviation aircraft. Included in the effort was the delivery of a web based service portal complete with e-commerce and back office components.
Prior to joining Avidyne, Matt spent 12 years in the Computer Graphics software product development. He spent 8 years at Micrografx Corporation where he led a team of developers in the creation of 3D graphics retail products. During his tenure at Micrografx, Matt was instrumental in all aspects of software project lifecycle management from product conception, development, testing to market delivery and sales. And prior to Micrografx, he successfully participated as a principle and board member of two startup companies of which one company invented and introduced computerized hair styling to the market and the other introduced 3D graphics to the Windows desktop.
Matt has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Utah where he graduated Magnum Cum Laude and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California where he graduated with honors.
